EOTO
When I read about this EOTO (each one teach one) assignment, I actually got pretty excited. I started a new job this week at a talent acquisition firm. So during my whole first week of training so far we have been using a piece of technology called Bullhorn. I had never heard of it until I started, but since it is something I am currently using I thought it would be a great idea to inform my professor and others about it! For my role as a recruiting specialist, I use Bullhorn every day to help me locate candidates in my talent pool and match the right jobs to them. Without this application, myself and my co- workers would not be able to do our job. Of course I am barely scratching the surface of what this application can truly offer, so I will start from the beginning. In 1999, Bullhorn was founded. It was created by Roger Colvin, Barry Hinckley and Art Papas. When it was first created, Bullhorn was used as a platform for freelancers to find work and collaborate. But in 2001, they changed up Bullhorn to be more of a CRM platform (customer relationship management. Now, Bullhorn in technical terms provides software as a service to third party staffing and recruiting firms. The headquarters is based in Boston, Massachusetts and has a current revenue of 219.9 million dollars. Not only is Bullhorn a customer relationship management platform, but it also works as an applicant tracking system (ATS) as well. To say the least, this software has changed the game of staffing and recruiting. It makes everything we need to do for our jobs possible and just a click away. Of course I am no pro at using this device yet, I am slowly making leaps and bounds every day through the online enrollment and training classes. Realistically when this software was created, it wasn’t made to “correct” or “fix” how the recruiting industry did work. It was created to expedite our process and allow us to make more money for our firms faster than people who had done our job in the past before. It literally does everything. Helps us create ads for future candidates to get in touch with us, allows us to create structured schedules for our daily tasks, exchange information with co workers about clients and candidates in a breeze, etc. When it comes to changing ways we communicate, it just makes things simpler and more effective. I can contact any of my coworkers, clients and candidates through Bullhorn. Not only that but it keeps tracks of all of records when it comes to even the simplest tasks like just a regular quality control call to a client. Again, I had no idea what a CRM was until this week! But I couldn't imagine doing the job I’m doing now without it. Of course it is always a pain learning how to work a new software. But I am taking it one day at a time. In no time I will have the hang of this application perfectly! Hope you enjoyed learning something new about a software some of my peers in class could be using after graduation if they take the same work route as I have!
